The 1960 Color Emotion Guide was the first to show that colors evoke similar feelings about marketing messages across gender, ethnicity, or geography.From optimism and confidence to balance and kindness, they found that people associated the same colors and the respective logos that use those colors, to the same feelings.In 1985 Nippon took this concept further, conducting its own research to determine which colors resonate with people and draw them to action. Beyond a single color that evokes a single feeling, Nippon discovered that contrasts, shadows and color combinations also influence people's non-consciousness.In fact, they were able to have a subject purchase a product using the results of a color-based personality test.In all cultures, races, and genders, people reliably create similar patterns or groups based on color preference.Nippon's research aligned these patterns with established personality "cubes," which proposed a correlation between color preference and personality.
